Neo-Nazi March In Pskov

On May 6, 2005, the REGNUM news agency published a report that in March 2005 a Nazi march took place in Pskov. At the walls of the city Kremlin, i.e. in the very center of the city, local skinheads held a procession with Nazi symbols, and then set a fire in the shape of a swastika, laying out its figure from a large number of rags.

The event was attended by the leader of the Freedom Party, Yuri Belyaev, who apparently came from St. Petersburg specifically to participate in the action (the Pskov branch of the party, we recall, was liquidated by a court decision at the end of 2004) and the leader of the Pskov skinheads, known as “Zhora Ariets” .

The action was carried out on the initiative of “German journalists” from the Der Spiegel magazine, who were filming a documentary about Russian neo-Nazis for their television. However, it is quite obvious that such “staged shots” have nothing to do with documentaries and journalism. But in fact, a bright Nazi propaganda event was organized in the city, which, due to the “journalistic cover,” was not stopped by the local authorities.
