On May 14, 2005, participants in the "Bridge of Shame" action handcuffed themselves to the building of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation on Neglinnaya Street in Moscow and blocked the passage along the street with chains and padlocks.
The action was held on the eve of the Day of Remembrance of people who died of AIDS and was designed to draw attention to the catastrophic situation of HIV-infected and AIDS patients in Russia.
The police dispersed the unsanctioned rally, the protesters (about 20 people) were detained and taken to the Tverskoy police station.
