On May 31, 2005, Komsomolskaya Pravda published an interview with the director of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Valery Tishkov, "We have made it fashionable to deny Russia."
Today is one of the most prosperous periods in the history of Russia, V. Tishkov believes. The economy is developing, the people began to live much better than before, etc., but instead of being proud of their country, its culture and new buildings, citizens are sure that they live the worst of all.
“Russia is an absolutely normal country ,” says V. Tishkov. “ ” But it has suddenly become very fashionable to pass it off as abnormal .
“We ourselves have drawn this vicious circle around ourselves from which we cannot get out. Every journalist begins his article or TV program with the saying “in our difficult time” ... when people are interviewed [during sociological surveys - ed.], they are also on autopilot respond with words that newspapers and television pounded into their heads the day before .
The West and the funds created with American money, through which the Americans "are pursuing the policy of the Big Enemy" are to blame for this . And Russian citizens work in these funds, who are well aware of "who pays them money and what they want from them for this money. They are not preparing sabotage. But Russia's opposition shows through from there from all holes . "
“Today, there are an unfortunate number of customers for slandering Russia ,” V. Tishkov is sure. “ And the internal opposition. And the outside world. And our former brothers -“ bear cubs ”in the Soviet Union - cannot lift themselves up with anything other than humiliation of Russia . "
With this state of affairs it is necessary to fight - a positive example.
It should be noted that one cannot but agree with many of the points made by V. Tishkov. Of course, in the course of sociological surveys, people agree that others live worse than they do. It is only strange that Tishkov considers this phenomenon of public consciousness created by the efforts of the West and Western funds, that is, by some external force.
