St. Petersburg human rights activist demands that yet another nationalist newspaper be held accountable

On June 2, 2005, the head of the public organization "Democratic Russia" Ruslan Linkov addressed the prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg with another statement , in which he demanded that the newspaper of the "Russian National Unity" (RNE) party "Evpatiy Kolovrat" published in St. Petersburg be held accountable for publication of materials aimed at "inciting hatred and enmity, humiliating the dignity of a group of persons on the grounds of nationality, attitude to religion, as well as belonging to a social group, as well as containing calls for the implementation of extremist activities" .

The applicant asks the prosecutor's office to check the materials of the newspaper for the presence of publications of an anti-Semitic nature, to initiate a criminal case under part 2 of article 280 and part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the fact of writing, publishing and distributing nationalist materials, and also to take other measures against the guilty persons (individuals and legal entities). ), provided for by the laws "On Counteracting Extremist Activity" and "On the Mass Media".
