A. Borodina accuses officials who are preventing the introduction of the “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture” of “religious tolerance and lack of culture” and proposes a new version of the defense industrial complex

The author of the textbook "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" Alla Borodina, in an interview with NG-Religions, spoke about the reasons preventing the introduction of this subject in schools, as well as about the new course "History of Religious Culture".

A. Borodina sees the main reason for the fact that "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" has not been introduced everywhere is "religious intolerance and lack of culture of officials" who ignore the wishes of school teachers and parents.

The interlocutor of "NG-Religions" also spoke about the new course "History of Religious Culture" developed by her. It is assumed that this subject will be studied from the first to the final grade.

Despite the name, the course, apparently, is a variation of the same OPK. According to A. Borodina, in the second grade, children "get acquainted with the events of the Gospel, church holidays. In the third year of study, the peculiarities of iconography are revealed to the children, using icons, children repeat and deepen what they learned in the 2nd grade and get acquainted with the Old Testament." Fifth-graders should study the Church Slavonic language once a week, sixth-graders - "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture", generalizing and deepening what they have learned earlier. "From the 7th to the 9th grade, the guys go through the history of Christian culture, they get acquainted with both Catholicism and Protestantism. In the 10th grade, ancient religions are studied. Finally, in the 11th grade, the guys consider the modern religious picture of the world."

In an interview with Russian Line , A. Borodina explained that the History of Religious Culture is not a new course. She has been developing the program "History of Religious Culture" for 10 years, and the OPK is a part of this program.

Calling everyone who opposes the OPK xenophobes, A. Borodina said: "I can work on the text, but what the xenophobic campaign requires will never happen. I haven't corrected it and I won't correct it!"
