In connection with the wave of racist violence that swept Voronezh, in May 2005 the Voronezh Koltso newspaper published a selection of opinions about the existence of fascist organizations in the city as such (please note that representatives of public organizations were not interviewed). Here are two opinions, which, in our opinion, are indicative, since they belong to the local legislator and the official responsible for working with adolescents.
Regional Duma deputy Yuri Anokhin ( Justice bloc ), for example, believes that "fascist organizations in Voronezh are still in their infancy . "
Alexander Nikulin, an official of the Main Department of Education of the Administration of the Voronezh Region, also thinks that, although "according to the media (! - ed. ), attacks by skinheads took place", "until such groups have grown stronger and have not begun to gain weight" . In addition, he reports that "according to official data that the education department receives from the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, no cases of the creation of fascist groups in the territory of our region have been registered . "
We remind you that the Voronezh region remains one of the most disadvantaged regions in terms of manifestations of ethnoxenophobia and racist violence.
