The legal proceedings on the claim of believers against the organizers of the exhibition "Russia-2" have been terminated

On June 22, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow terminated legal proceedings on a civil lawsuit filed by a group of seven believers against Vasily Bychkov, director of the Central House of Artists, and Marat Gelman, organizer of the Russia-2 exhibition. The plaintiffs demanded compensation for non-pecuniary damage in the amount of five million rubles. In their opinion, "the exhibition" Russia-2 "had a blasphemous, blasphemous, monstrously immoral character. ... All the exhibits of the exhibition have absolutely no artistic value, and have only one goal: the destruction of the moral and ethical foundations of society, insulting national and religious feelings of visitors to the exhibition".

As M. Gelman's lawyer Anatoly Kucherena told Interfax , "the case was dismissed in connection with the petition filed by the representatives of the defendants." As the basis for the motion to dismiss the case, the representatives of the defendants stated that "the claim was filed with violations of procedural rules."
