Residents of Aleksandrov protest against the construction of a building for Jehovah's Witnesses

In early June, the Jehovah's Witnesses organization in Vladimir applied to the administration of the Alexandrov District (Vladimir Region) with a request to allocate a land plot for the construction of a public building with a lecture hall. The authorities invited local residents to express their attitude towards this idea, and the townspeople began to protest. The collection of signatures against the construction has also begun.

IA REGNUM quotes a letter (under which there are 80 signatures) to the editorial office of the newspaper "Aleksandrovsky voice of labor": "The residents of houses 8, 8a, 12 on Koroleva Street are Orthodox, therefore they are categorically against the construction of a religious building of the Jehovah's Witnesses sect in our area" (so in the text of the agency's message. - Ed. ), as this is contrary to our religious beliefs, which will cause possible conflicts.

In addition, three ten-story buildings have been built in a small area of ​​our district, a fourth building is under construction, a boiler house, a GTS substation, garages, and a parking lot. Thus, in a densely populated area where a large number of elderly people and children live, they are deprived of a recreation area with additional development, which will cause discontent and protest among residents. To make sure that the residents would strongly oppose building in the area, you should have held a meeting of the residents and listened to their arguments. The doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, according to experts, is directed against the state. It contains a disdainful attitude to the constitutional duties of Russian citizens. It is absolutely obvious that the permission to create a base in Alexandrov for the activities of the totalitarian sect of Jehovah's Witnesses, hostile to Russia, for the construction of its own building will have a sharp negative impact on the situation in the district, on the physical and moral health of people.

Another letter says that, "guided by Articles 194-198 of the Code of Civil Procedure of the Russian Federation, the court of the Golovinsky District Court of the Northern Administrative District of Moscow dated March 26, 2004 on the religious association Jehovah's Witnesses" decided: "Liquidate the religious organization" Religious Community of Jehovah's Witnesses in Moscow" as a legal entity, to ban its activities in Moscow". activity in the whole country - the attempt of the Vladimir organization of Jehovah's Witnesses to permanently settle on Alexander's land is a challenge to the laws of Russia, which are constantly violated by sectarians, as well as a threat to the health, morality of the population and Russian statehood.
