A journalist was beaten in Rzhev

On July 8, 2005, in the town of Rzhev, Tver Region, unidentified persons beat up a TV journalist from the city's independent TV studio "RiT".

RiT correspondent Igor Kuznetsov was hospitalized. On the fact of the attack, a criminal case was opened under Art. 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("obstruction of the legal professional activities of journalists").
