At the end of July 2005, cases of manifestations of anti-Semitism in Taganrog became known.
Several times, including at 3-4 am, at the home of the chairman of the Taganrog Jewish community (TEO), threatening telephone calls were heard.
A few days later, two young people broke the windows of the Jewish House - the center of the spiritual life of the Jews of Taganrog. The community leadership called the police. Representatives of the community were invited to the city prosecutor's office.
TEO chairman Tanha Otershtein said "I believe that this is a separate, yet another case of everyday anti-Semitism, which is dormant and waiting in the wings . "
