On August 14, 2005, on Prospekt Mira in Krasnoyarsk, a group of skinheads beat up two musicians who were returning from a rock concert in Central Park. As a result, 18-year-old Viktor Novikov, the drummer of the Spring Light band from Sosnovoborsk, received severe head injuries. He was in a coma and died in the hospital without regaining consciousness on August 21, 2005.
The prosecutor's office of the Central District of Krasnoyarsk opened a criminal case under part 4 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death"). The prosecutor's office declined to comment on the case. According to unverified information from IA REGNUM, the identity of all the people who beat the musician have already been established by the investigation, and they are not skinheads.
"This is a blatant case. ... We will not allow these thugs to roam in our city. The authorized bodies are dealing with this case. This is no longer a child's game ," said Krasnoyarsk Mayor Pyotr Pimashkov.
