Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin: “It is necessary for Orthodox citizens to unite against the “orange” actions”

On August 29, 2005, an interview with Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, was published on the Radonezh portal.

Vsevolod understands civil society as follows: "This is an opportunity to unite and influence the authorities and the elite for any people, regardless of the system of views, including people who love their country, their history, and who, forming natural, and not formal communities must stop the "orange" crowd" .

The "world behind the scenes" with the help of artificial, "often living on foreign grants" associations, seeks to ruin the country. And it is necessary "that Orthodox citizens unite against the "orange" actions. As well as against any other attempts to establish a puppet regime in our country, controlled by foreign embassies. "

The priesthood must resist the "orange threat": "Our parishes must become centers of social action... The creation of youth groups, military-patriotic circles, the organization of youth camps - all this can be done by a community of literate, responsible laity. The priest must take upon himself the spiritual leadership " .

At the same time, we must strive to contact the secular authorities so that they understand that "it is worth working with real forces, and not with virtual public organizations that can either be created or dissolved" .
