An African was beaten in St. Petersburg in the spring

In the spring of 2005, an African was beaten by skinheads in St. Petersburg. The attack took place in the center of the city, on the embankment of one of the canals. He was attacked by a group of thugs shouting nationalist slogans. The dark-skinned youth was severely beaten, his skull was crushed with a piece of lead pipe.

As of August 2005, he still had not recovered from his injuries.

This incident was reported in a survey of right-wing radical groups in the North-West of Russia published by the Daily Telegraph on August 29, 2005.
