In August 2005, the verdict came into force to the head of the Kirov branch of the "People's National Party" Yevgeny Teplyashin, who was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities) and part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
"As the court established, the head of the regional branch of the public association E. Teplyashin in 2003-2004 in the city of Kirov and districts of the region campaigned among citizens in order to attract them to the ranks of the association. At the same time, he used and distributed illegally printed publications: a newspaper" I am Russian”, brochures “Fundamentals of Russianism”, “Russian Will”, leaflets “Russian Purpose”. All of them contained statements of an extremist orientation and calls for inciting ethnic hatred,” the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia reports .
The verdict was handed down by the Leninsky District Court of Kirov. The defendant fully admitted his guilt.
The court sentenced E. Teplyashin to pay a fine of 80 thousand rubles. Earlier it was reported that the verdict against the Kirov skinhead was passed on a civil lawsuit filed against Teplyashin by city utilities, and the criminal case will be considered later. However, in a press release issued on August 30, 2005 by the General Prosecutor's Office, it is reported that the verdict was still passed in a criminal case.
