Church of St. Great Martyr Catherine on Vspolye was completely transferred to the Moscow metochion of the Orthodox Church in America

On August 31, 2005, Mikhail Shvydkoi, head of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography, visited St. Great Martyr Catherine on Vspolye, where the Moscow Compound of the Orthodox Church in America is located. At a meeting with the rector of the metochion, Archimandrite Zakhey M. Shvydka, he promised to expedite the return to the Church of the winter church of the Savior Not Made by Hands, which at that time still housed the workshops of the All-Russian Artistic Research and Restoration Center (VKhNRTS) named after Grabar.

Recall that the transfer of church buildings by restorers to the farmstead began in October 2004, when employees of the All-Russian Scientific and Cultural Center vacated the refectory of the Catherine's church. It was originally planned that the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands would be returned before the end of 2004, but the process of moving the workshops to the street. The radio went on. However, as Archimandrite Zacchaeus told an ITAR-TASS correspondent, "During today's talks, the director of the All-Russian Scientific and Cultural Center Alexei Vladimirov assured that by November 10, 2005, the first floor of the church would be completely vacated."

He kept his promise. On November 10, A. Vladimirov and Archimandrite Zacchaeus signed an act of transferring the first floor of the building to the metochion of the Orthodox Church in America.

On December 6, 2006, Archimandrite Zacchaeus and director of the VKhNRTS A.P. Vladimirov in the presence of a representative of the Main Directorate for the Protection of Monuments of Moscow T.B. Kalashnikova signed the acceptance and transfer of the second floor of the winter church. As noted in the message on the website of the Church of St. vmts. Catherine , this is "the last step for the full possession of the temple after 10 years of joint existence on the church territory of the temple complex ...".
