The results of the competition “Human Rights in the Modern World”, dedicated to the memory of N. Girenko, have been summed up

On September 1, 2005, the list of winners and laureates of the Competition for young students "Human Rights in the Modern World" was approved based on the results of the final at the "Citizen of the World" camp .

By the decision of the Organizing Committee, the authors of the 25 best works from the rating list of participants in the competition were also recognized as laureates.

In total, the competition received 630 works from 30 regions of Russia. 100 works passed to the second round, including 46 in the nomination "Human Rights and the Threat of National Extremism". Based on the results of the second round, the jury of the Contest (32 experts from leading human rights organizations in Russia) determined the 25 best works and a rating list of potential participants in the Final of the Contest. 15 schoolchildren from different regions of the Russian Federation came to the final, which took place on the basis of the "Citizen of the World" camp.

The winners of the competition "Human Rights in the Modern World" (spring 2005) are:

1st place - Elena Dementieva "Self-determination of human rights and the rights of peoples", Krasnoyarsk Territory;

2nd place - Galina Arbuzova "In order to do something correctly and well, you need to be able to do it", Republic of Karelia, Sergeeva Natalia "My attitude to nationalism", Sverdlovsk region;

3rd place - Viktor Bagaev "Know your rights!", Republic of Bashkortostan, Anastasia Zoykina "Human rights in the modern world", Republic of Chuvashia,

Ivan Kuznetsov "Freedom of speech or life without perspective", St. Petersburg.
