Discos have been banned in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug

On September 15, 2005, the administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug banned youth discos in all rural clubs, as well as in the house of culture and the cultural and sports complex of Naryan-Mar. This step is explained by "the intention of the district authorities to give youth recreation a qualitatively new character" .

Agency Rosbalt reports that the department of culture of the administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug has been given the task to develop a regulation on holding discos in the cultural and leisure institutions of the district. Prior to approval, the document must be considered at meetings of the anti-terrorist interdepartmental commission and the commission to combat illicit drug trafficking.
