On October 7, 2005, the youth movement "We" held a theatrical action in Moscow dedicated to Vladimir Putin's birthday. During the action, one of the organizers, Igor Drandin, was detained.
According to I. Drandin, the reason for the detention was the chanting of anti-Putin slogans.
The deputy prefect of Moscow's Central Administrative District unsuccessfully demanded an end to the rally, and police officers promised to punish participants for violating picket rules after they began chanting anti-government slogans.
