RONS leader lost the elections

On October 16, 2005, in the elections of local self-government of the Vladimir region, Igor Artemov, who ran for the post of head of the Petushinsky district (leader of the Russian National Union), lost the election to the current head of the district, Alexei Sereda, by about 8% of the vote.

It is significant that during the election campaign against Artemov, an extremely popular politician in the region, a deputy of the regional legislative assembly, representatives of the Vladimir diocese and the clergy of the Petushinsky district spoke out, declaring the inadmissibility of speculation on the topic of faith and Orthodoxy in the propaganda of right-wing radical ideas.
