AKM protest rally dispersed in Moscow

On October 27, 2005, in Moscow, in front of the residence of the presidential plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation, the Vanguard of the Red Youth (AKM) held a protest against attempts to bury Lenin's body, dispersed by riot police with the use of force.

First, the participants of the action marched along Ilyinka, and then tried to hand over to the embassy an appeal with their demands and a wreath with a photograph of plenipotentiary Georgy Poltavchenko. The OMON detachment, which arrived five minutes later, began beating the protesters and journalists, breaking their arms and laying them on the pavement. They tried to seize the footage from the journalists. Then, 10 beaten AKM activists were loaded into the OMON bus and taken to the Kitai-Gorod police station.

Among those beaten and detained is a candidate for the Moscow City Duma, leader of the AKM Sergey Udaltsov. Maria Kolyada, a minor participant in the action, has a dislocated forearm. There are injuries and other participants of the action.
