Neo-Nazi goes to the polls

On December 4, 2005, by-elections for the vacant seat in the State Duma of the Russian Federation will be held in the 199th Preobrazhensky single-mandate constituency in Moscow. National Socialist Alexei Nazarov, the founder and president of the socio-political movement Union for the Salvation of Rus', registered as a candidate for deputy in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. In 2004, A. Nazarov already tried to run for the Duma in the same constituency. His speeches also took place under ethno-nationalist, anti-migrant rhetoric.

On December 1, 2005, A. Nazarov withdrew his candidacy in favor of V. Kvachkov.
