On November 16, 2005, members of the National Bolshevik Party (NBP), Vanguard of the Red Youth (AKM) and Yabloko were attacked at Chernyshevskaya metro station in St. Petersburg.
Young political activists returning home from the action "We are different" dedicated to the Day of Tolerance were met by a group of young people (about 20 people) near the metro entrance. One of the unknown hit the National Bolshevik in the face, after which the attackers fled. Downstairs, in the underground lobby of the station, the activists were attacked by a second group, also about 20 people. According to Andrey Dmitriev, a representative of the St. Petersburg branch of the NBP, the attackers did not look like skinheads: they all wore black jackets and hooded overalls, but without any symbols. One of the victims, a member of the NBP Alexander Kolosov, said that he was asked: "Are you the National Bolsheviks?" After which a fight broke out.
In the ensuing brawl, 5 members of the NBP were injured, as well as the leader of the St. Petersburg AKM Maxim Malyshev. Three of them were hospitalized in the Alexander Hospital, two more refused medical care.
The NBP, in its statement, regarded the attack as an attack against the united opposition in St. Petersburg and blamed Nashi for organizing it.
