The Moscow City Court refused to satisfy the claim of the Rodina party to deregister all candidates for Moscow City Duma from the LDPR in connection with “inciting ethnic hatred.”
As evidence, Rodina presented the court with leaflets with the slogans: “Close Moscow from people from the south” and “We are for the city with Russian faces.”
The court found no signs of violation of the law in the actions of the LDPR candidates and its leader. According to the prosecutor, the leaflets do not contain calls for aggressive actions against any nationalities, and Zhirinovsky’s actions “do not contain any intent to agitate.”
Rodina party lawyer Alexander Butov said that the Moscow City Court’s decision will be appealed to the Supreme Court within a few days.
Let us remind you that similar accusations were also made against the Rodina party during the election campaign. In this regard, Rodina representative Sergei Butin emphasized: “The LDPR advertising campaign places emphasis on the ethnic factor, while we advocate putting things in order in the field of immigration.”
