The Moscow territorial department of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress (VAK) appealed to compatriots living or temporarily staying in Moscow with a request not to move around the capital alone, to walk in large groups if possible, not to go out into the city late at night, to avoid crowded places and not travel to certain parts of the city.
The appeal is connected with the intensification of the activities of extremist youth groups (skinheads), whose victims, as a rule, are people of "non-Slavic" appearance. The reason for the appeal, apparently, was the events of the last week - the murder of a native of Kabardino-Balkaria on December 4, attacks on a visitor from Tajikistan on December 3 and a native of Armenia on December 5.
