The Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims has denied information about a possible withdrawal from the Interreligious Council of Russia. In a statement, the head of the Council of Ulema of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate, Mufti Farid Salman, said that the MSR “remains a powerful means of beneficial influence on the minds of believers in Russia,” and the leadership of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate is “a full participant in interreligious dialogue, a guarantor of interfaith harmony, cooperation and collaboration.”
On December 9, the chairman of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate, Talgat Tadzhuddin, confirmed that the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate does not intend to leave the MSD. “There was no talk about leaving and there won’t be. If we leave, who will be there?” - said the mufti.
