On December 12, 2005, the Moscow Region youth movement "Locals" held a mass rally-concert called "Constitution Lesson" near the Crocus City shopping center on the Moscow Ring Road.
In addition, the "Locals" held a rally of 4,000 near the US Embassy in Moscow and handed over to the American ambassador an appeal with "an appeal to carefully study our laws and continue to respect them and Russia, as well as the Russian Constitution translated for this purpose . "
The protesters were brought to the embassy in dozens of buses in an organized manner. One of the organizers reported that 5,000 people had gathered in front of the embassy.
According to one of the participants, the picketers were recruited from various educational institutions in the Moscow region: they called from the Department of Education and asked to attend.
At the same time, the Locals picketed the offices of the Yabloko and Rodina parties (the movement also accuses these parties of violating the constitution).
Meanwhile, the Ekho Moskvy radio station reported that students from the Moscow State Regional University were being taken away without their consent to a certain action of the regional division of the Nashi movement, which was being held near Crocus City. According to the information received, the rector of the university gave the order for this. However, the press secretary of the movement, Ivan Mostovich, said that Nashi had nothing to do with the Locals' action.
