On November 19, 2005, the first Unity Congress of the Patriotic Forces of the Bryansk Region took place in Bryansk.
The congress was attended by representatives of 27 parties and public organizations of the Bryansk region. 224 delegates were registered and about 60 invited, including Federal Inspector of the Representative of the President for the Central Federal District N. Burbyga, Deputy Governor of the Bryansk Region V. Malashenko.
The initiator of the congress was its actual leader, later he was elected chairman of the local coordinating council, was the leader of the local ethno-nationalist movement "SPAS" E. Altunin.
The full list of organizations that took part in the work of the congress is unknown. However, among the speakers were representatives of the "Unity Conceptual Party" , accused in 2003 of inciting religious hatred, and the "Movement in Support of the Army".
This is not the first case of connections between the regional authorities and representatives of right-wing radical organizations. Let us recall that in the summer of 2005 representatives of the St. Petersburg branch of the NDPR took part in the events of the regional legislative assembly.
