Anti-Azerbaijani rally in Moscow

On January 22, 2006, a rally was held in Moscow, the formal reason for which was the decision to erect a monument to Heydar Aliyev in Moscow. DPNI took an active part in the preparation of the rally. The rally was not allowed by the Moscow authorities, so it was held as a "descent of local residents", without flags and banners. Despite this, only about half of the participants in the event (about a hundred people out of two hundred) were local residents. The rest are "curious", some of which are skinheads (it is known that some of them belong to the fan club of FC "Torpedo"). One of these, with an SS badge on his headdress, even broke through to a makeshift podium-bench and, throwing up his hand in a Nazi salute, began to chant "Glory to Russia!" He was not removed from the rally, although he was kicked out of the bench.

Before the start of the rally, DPNI leaflets entitled "What is allowed to an Azerbaijani is forbidden to a Muscovite" were distributed (the leaflet begins with the words "Our district is being turned into an Azerbaijani enclave" ), as well as the newspaper "Our Tribune" with an article entitled "Who are you with? With Chubais or with Kvachkov?!" on the front page.

The installation of the monument, as before , became only a formal reason for proclaiming anti-Azerbaijani slogans and conducting ethno-nationalist propaganda. In particular, the representative of the DPNI Alexander Potkin (Belov) said: “Muscovites are not allowed to gather where we want. they corrupt it, and bring their wild barbaric laws and bribes into our lives." And the slogan "Station - Baku" became the official slogan of the event .

As on the "Right March", under the pretext of voting against the installation of a monument, the participants of the rally were asked to throw their hands up: "I propose! Hold your hands, let everyone take a picture of it, and let it be shown in all the newspapers that we are against it. Just raise your hands up, and not forward, otherwise they will call us fascists again . However, according to eyewitnesses, the skinheads still "saluted", shouting "Glory to Russia", and did not vote.

According to some information, two participants of the event were detained for administrative offenses. Otherwise, the police did not interfere in the course of the event.
