On January 27, 2006, police officers in Kaliningrad detained two young men who were distributing campaign leaflets for candidates to the Kaliningrad Regional Duma and the City Council of Deputies.
The agitators were taken to police departments, where their identities and campaign material were checked. After it turned out that all the output data of the leaflets met the requirements of the election commission, the young people were released.
It is known that the deputies, whose interests were represented by assistants, have already applied to the prosecutor's office on the fact of obstruction of lawful campaigning by the internal affairs bodies.
