On February 3, 2006, at the Open Forum of Youth of the Perm Territory held in Perm, an incident occurred involving representatives of the Movement against Illegal Immigration (DPNI), which became the reason for accusations of complicity in fascism against the Governor of the Perm Territory Oleg Chirkunov by the youth movements “Nashi” and “Young Guard” " .
On February 9, 2006, representatives of the federal media participating in the Open Forum issued a statement in which they regarded the attacks on the governor, who made an officialapology in connection with the incident, as a planned campaign to discredit O. Chirkunov.
“At the Open Forum of Youth of the Perm Territory there was no fascist Sabbath, which pro-Kremlin youth organizations are trying to tell the “city and the world” about; Governor Chirkunov did not invite fascists to the event and certainly did not express support for them,” the document says.
