Love for the humanities in Omsk

On February 15, 2006, it became known that some teachers of the social disciplines of Omsk universities were paid a "preventive visit" by district policemen - on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the 20th Congress of the CPSU.

The purpose of the event remained unclear. Judging by the reservations like "I have two more addresses", the visits of social science teachers and politicians were carried out according to the list. As far as is known, none of the professors had any intention of publicly celebrating the anniversary of the 20th Congress.

However, this is not the first signal that the security forces are paying attention to the intelligentsia, the DO-info agency reports. Unidentified men in civilian clothes are talking with students of Omsk universities to find out the content of lectures in the humanities.
