The head of the Regional Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Perm Territory, Muhammadgali Khuzin, refused to recognize the decree of the head of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, Talgat Tadzhutdin, on removal from his position.
The official statement of the Perm Mufti notes that the Perm “Muftiate was already registered in 1994 as a centralized religious organization with its own Charter, internal order, community, etc. Replacing the head of a centralized religious organization from the outside is legally unacceptable, it is contrary to the law.” On January 28, the next congress of Muslims of the Kama region confirmed the powers of Khuzin.
