Search of the leader of the Kaliningrad DPNI

On the evening of February 28, 2006, the apartment of the leader of the Kaliningrad branch of the DPNI, Aleksey Safin, was searched as part of a criminal case initiated against him under Article 282 (inciting ethnic and religious hatred).

Initially, it was reported that the search was conducted by officers of the Federal Security Service for the Kaliningrad region, headed by an investigator from the prosecutor's office. Later it was clarified that the FSB officers did not take part in it, and the search was carried out by the police. From the apartment of Safin, who is the official owner of the website of the Kaliningrad branch of the DPNI, a computer system unit was seized.

According to DPNI supporters, the search was carried out in violation of procedural rules. Safin himself is currently not in the city.

Unfortunately, it is not known what exactly became the reason for initiating a criminal case. The bulk of the materials on the website of this organization, which has existed in the region for about a year and does not have official registration, was either a reprint of the materials of the "head" site, or was of a pronounced anti-Islamic nature (the local branch of the DPNI was an active participant in protests against the construction of a mosque in the city ) .
