On March 2, 2006, a trial began in Samara on the suit of Viktor Guzhov, editor-in-chief of the people's patriotic newspaper "I am a Russian in Samara" against the district prosecutor's office. The plaintiff insists on canceling the warning issued to him on November 25, 2005 by the prosecutor of the Samara region V. Kryukov in connection with the publication of extremist materials in the newspaper.
The editor was warned about the possibility of bringing him to administrative and criminal liability under Art. 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (actions aimed at forcibly changing the constitutional order of the Russian Federation). The warning clarifies the inadmissibility of actions aimed at destabilizing the social and political situation, as well as the publication of materials aimed at inciting national hatred (in particular, anti-Semitism).
