On March 24, 2006, at the hearings held by the Commission of the Public Chamber on Tolerance and Freedom of Conscience, gallery owner Marat Gelman made a statement about the creation of a public group "International" (which included M. Gelman himself and several of his "colleagues in art"). The group intends to fight fascism by squeezing specific carriers of this ideology out of public life and politics. The list of persons to be squeezed out has already been compiled and posted on LiveJournal . It includes about a hundred representatives of nationalist organizations of various persuasions.
In addition, M. Gelman plans in the near future to hold a cultural event called the "Festival of Half-Bloods", in which he is going to attract representatives of art who have an "ethnically mixed" origin.
