Picket of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation banned in St. Petersburg

On March 23, 2006, the St. Petersburg city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation received a refusal from the city administration to hold a picket dedicated to the anniversary of the bombing of Yugoslavia.

According to Vladimir Fedorov, the first secretary of the city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the application for holding the picket was filed in accordance with the law, and the officials who refused to approve the action allegedly because of a violation of the deadline for submitting a notification are either incompetent or seek to curtail opposition activities in the city, even in violation of legal norms.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation submitted a new application - for April 3, 2006.
