Police prevented skinhead pogrom

On March 26, 2006, in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Territory, a branch of the neo-Nazi organization "Slavic Union" was going to hold a "Celebration of the Russian Nation." The head of the local police refused the organizers of the action. The leadership of law enforcement agencies motivated the refusal with suspicions that the event could turn into a skinhead pogrom.

Having no hope that the ban on skinheads would have an effect, at the scheduled time, reinforced police squads were pulled into the city. Skinheads observing the situation were forced to retreat.

Under pressure from the "comrades-in-arms" of the attackers, the victim was forced to withdraw the statement about the beating.
