Journalists were threatened in Lipetsk

On March 27, 2006, a press conference was held in Lipetsk for the local branch of the Union of Communist Youth (SKM). According to media representatives, on the eve of the press conference, unknown people called them and gave them "recommendations" not to go to the event for "security purposes" .

"Otherwise, he hinted, I won't be able to feel safe - they'll take care of me: during the day the police and the FSB, and in the evening bandits ," one of the journalists said.

In the Lipetsk organization of the SCM, the events were regarded as pressure organized by the authorities on media representatives.
