On March 31, 2006, 20 activists of the Red Youth Vanguard and the Smena youth movement held a protest against the housing and communal services reform near the Russian government building. Six people were detained who were holding banners near the fence of the building, as participants in an unauthorized picket.
The detainees were taken to the Presnensky district police station.
Meanwhile, a group of AKM activists led by Sergei Udaltsov was received by the deputy head of the department for working with citizens’ applications, Viktor Gavrilov, through whom Udaltsov conveyed an appeal to the Minister of Economy German Gref on housing and communal services issues.
