On April 2, 2006, 15-year-old Kairat Murzagaliev, an ethnic Kazakh, was beaten in Surgut.
K. Murzagaliyev was attacked by eight young people when he went out for bread. According to the victim, the attackers shouted nationalist slogans, one of them was wearing a scarf with swastikas. The skinheads threw the boy to the ground and kicked him.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a head injury, concussion, broken nose and knocked out teeth.
The Surgut prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
