On April 4, a round table was held in the Voronezh Regional Duma on the problems of the moral education of youth. In addition to deputies, the event was attended by representatives of state and municipal educational institutions, public organizations, and experts. During the meeting, one of the deputies, the leader of the Voronezh communists, Sergei Rudakov, proposed to exclude from the pre-prepared resolution of the hearings the item on the introduction of the course "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" into the school curriculum. This initiative was supported by the head of the regional education department. The item on the introduction of the OPK was excluded from the resolution.
The answer to the decision of the round table was the article "Orthodox culture in schools is not so much an educational issue as an ideological one" by the deputy editor-in-chief of the publication "Economics and Life-Chernozemye". The author of the article states the fact of "the dominance of the non-Russian non-Orthodox element in the ideological spheres" of the Voronezh region and the "weakness of the patriotic political wing". The article contains an appeal to the Orthodox community to put pressure on the authorities, because, according to the author, the OPK does not want to study only those who in the near future "hope to find themselves in a different cultural environment. Or have hopes that in the coming years Russia will cease to be Russian Orthodox state.
