Mongolian students beaten in St. Petersburg

On April 15, 2006, at about 10:00 pm in St. Petersburg, students from Mongolia were attacked at the Moskovskiye Vorota metro station. About 10 young people in scarves with the symbols of the football club "Zenit" beat two citizens of Mongolia, a student of the State University of Technology and Design and a student of the State University of Low-Temperature Food Technologies, in an electric train car, after which they fled the scene.

Citizens of Mongolia with various injuries were taken to the hospital, hospitalization was not required.

Investigator of the Internal Affairs Directorate at the Metropolitan (St. Petersburg), Mikhail Viktorov, said that the incident occurred after the end of the football match "Zenith" - "Luch-Energy". Students from Mongolia were beaten for no reason. The train passengers did not intervene in the conflict. None of the visitors used the driver's emergency call to report what was happening in the car.

M.Viktorov also noted that skinheads actively use the equipment of football fans.

On the fact of the attack on citizens of Mongolia, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("beatings inflicted out of hooligan motives").
