On April 19, 2006, a rally against fraud in land transactions was held in Moscow on Manezhnaya Square, organized by the public movement "Peasant Front". Despite the timely and correct submission of the application, the refusal to hold the action appeared immediately before it was held.
OMON officers surrounded a group of about 150 people and tried to disperse the rally. In the end, the protesters were forced out of the square.
Interfax circulated a message from the Moscow police department that "practically all the participants in the rally are elderly people ," and the police decided not to detain or disperse them. However, according to the radio station Ekho Moskvy, several protesters were detained.
