Protest meeting of workers of the Yasnogorsk machine-building plant dispersed

On April 21, 2006, in Tula, the police dispersed an unsanctioned protest rally by the workers of the Yasnogorsk Machine-Building Plant. From 20 to 25 people were detained.

About 30 protesters came to the building of the city administration, unfurled a poster with the slogan "The entire salary of officials to the workers!" and demanded a meeting with the governor of the region.

Then the protesters sat down on the asphalt in front of the administration building and said they would not leave until the governor met with them.

Arriving police officers and riot police transferred the protesters in their arms to police buses. Those who resisted, according to the press secretary of the Vanguard of the Red Youth (AKM), Anastasia Udaltsova, who reported on the events, used electric shocks.
