The Prosecutor's Office of Kostroma initiated a criminal case under Art. 282 part 2 p. "a" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("inciting national, racial and religious hatred") against three residents of the city on the fact of attacking students from China.
The attackers were detained in hot pursuit by riot police. Another criminal case has been opened against one of them under the same article - he is also suspected of beating a schoolgirl, a native of Azerbaijan. According to law enforcement agencies, the girl was beaten on April 20, while a lyceum student was shouting nationalist slogans.
Later, the details of the beating of the girl became known. Two young men approached the Azerbaijani woman. “They raised their hands and shouted something about Hitler. I didn’t understand, but I was very scared. One of them said: “Do you know that today is Hitler’s birthday and people like you are beaten on this day? Tell your parents to leave here, otherwise we will find you, cripple and kill you ," the victim recalled. The second severely beat her.
Police officers came to the screams of the victim's friend. One of the guys ran away to the forest park. And the second one told law enforcement officers that he “hit her because she was not Russian . ” Another skinhead came out of the park "Let him go, he did everything right, with people like her, that's how it should be . " A patrol car took the detainees to the police station, but they were released a few hours later.
