Dispersal of a rally in Dagestan. A man died

On April 25, 2006, in the Dokuzparinsky district of Dagestan, more than 300 (according to other sources, up to 700) people blocked the highway and demanded the resignation of the head of the district administration, Kerimkhan Abasov. Police and riot police officers who arrived at the scene tried to unblock the road, using weapons.

According to the head of the district police department, Bikhram Akbarov, police officers “during the suppression of mass riots acted strictly within the law,” using only special means: Cheremukha gas and rubber bullets. However, it is known that one person died, and at least four more people received gunshot wounds - three local residents and a riot policeman.

Another 10 residents of the area were provided with medical assistance, after which they were released to their homes. It is reported that up to 20 victims were not hospitalized due to bad weather.

Subsequently, two people died from their wounds; in total, three people died as a result of the events at Miskindzhi, five are in hospitals.

On April 26, 2006, information appeared about the detention of 74 riot participants. On the same day, the Dagestan prosecutor's office opened two criminal cases - one under Art. 317 ("attack on the life of law enforcement officers"), 111 "intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm", 213 ("hooliganism") and 222 ("illegal possession of weapons"), and the second - under Art. Art. 105 (“murder”) and 222.
