On April 27, 2006, a picket in defense of Mikhail Khodorkovsky and a picket of the youth movement "United Russia" "Young Guard" were dispersed in St. Petersburg near the US Consulate.
The participants of the picket in defense of Khodorkovsky, about which the city administration was notified, planned to convey to the American consul an appeal to Congress and the US State Department calling for a boycott of the G-8 summit in St. Petersburg.
At the request of the police, the picket was curtailed, and a number of participants were detained. The organizer of the picket, Dilya Rainina, who had a notice of the action with her, was sent to the 78th police station in St. Petersburg. According to D. Raynina, near the consulate, the police took away her passport, a copy of the appeal to the Congress and the US State Department with signatures, which the picketers were going to give to the US Consul General, as well as a notification from the St. Petersburg administration about the picket.
Simultaneously with the picket in defense of Khodorkovsky, the Young Guard was holding an unauthorized contraction. The action was also dispersed, one person was detained.
