On April 26, new court hearings began in the case of Ravil Gumarov, Timur Ishmuratov and Fanis Shaikhutdinov, who were accused of organizing an explosion in Bugulma and found not guilty . The acquittal was later overturned . On March 7, F. Shaikhutdinov and R. Gumarov were again detained in Moscow.
At the first court session, the jury was selected and the testimony of the witness Valeev, who refused to testify as a witness for the prosecution, was given, since the first testimony was forced out of him under torture. A few days before the start of the trial, local television showed a story in which one of the victims of the explosion in Bugulma expressed the hope that the defendants would be imprisoned this time. Lawyers believe that such stories may affect the objectivity of the jury.
