Yuri Padalko has been charged

On May 2, 2006, the Taganskaya Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office of Moscow charged lawyer Yuri Padalko under Art. 318 part 1 ("use of violence against a representative of authority").

The human rights activist is accused of beating up a major of private security, who, during the dispersal of a sanctioned picket, smashed Yu. Padalko's face with a truncheon.
