On May 1, 2006 in Novosibirsk, about 150 people joined the traditional May Day demonstration and held a street party called "Monstration". After the march, 12 people were detained, three of them were ordered to appear on May 11, 2006 in court to pay an administrative fine for violating Art. 20 h. 3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
The protesters carried their own posters and banners, such as: "Is there anyone else here besides me?"
In the Central District Department of Internal Affairs of Novosibirsk, the detainees were kept for about 5 hours. According to one of the participants of the action, a policeman, passing by detainees with stretch marks, "The trachea is the goddess of love!" and "Who's in charge here?", he threw to them: "You've got it, go for extremism..." After the intervention of Anatoly Lokt, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the "monsters" were released.
